Our Intro to Basic Digital classes were so popular over this past year that we've expanded our class offerings. Now we are offering a three-part Basic Photography series that goes more into depth on six aspects of the Fundamentals of Photography. You don't have to take the classes in order, nor do you have to take all of them-- they can stand on their own-- but we are offering a 10% discount on the whole lot if you buy them all.
They're $25 per session, and we're offering each session twice a week to accommodate your schedule: Mondays 6:00-8:00pm and Saturdays 1:00-3:00pm at 7474 Transit Rd in Williamsville, and Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm andSaturdays 1:00-3:00 pm at 2635 Delaware Ave in Buffalo.
Class 1: Basic DSLR Photography
This is an introductory class where you will learn the ins and outs of your digital SLR camera. We will be covering the major shooting modes including Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Programmed Automatic, and Manual. We will be learning about aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and how they related to one another. This is your first step into the world of digital SLR photography.
Class 2: Composition
Now that you're versed in the functionality of your digital SLR it's time to learn how to compose your image. Where should I place my subject? Where should I focus? Where should I place the horizon? What is the rule of thirds? All of these questions and more will be answered as we delve into the basics of composing your image.
Class 3: Lighting and Exposure
This class will be covering the different metering modes that are available to you in your camera, when to use the different modes, how light affects our pictures, and of course how to properly expose your image. This course will also cover the different types of light we come into contact with on our photographic adventures, and how these types of light can negatively and positively affect our photographs.
Class 4: Introduction to Portraiture
One of the most common subjects of photography has always been people. Portraits are probably the most in-demand type of photograph in the repertoire of both pros and amateurs. This class covers the basics, starting with composition and poses, delving into controlling your light, and touching lightly on how to get studio-type results without a full studio setup.
